no more baby

How did this happen?  No more baby.  No more diapers.  Emma was wearing them at night and for her #2.  Gross.  But, she decided a couple weeks ago she wanted to only go on the potty so we decided we would not do diapers at all anymore.  Bummer.  Would it be weird if I started giving her a bottle again?  I really miss my baby.

  Ok, you'd never guess these two are soooo naughty, right? Well they are! They both have figured out how to escape from our fence. So Derek went and got a little white metal fence and put it all around our big fence. It keeps Hazel in but the little 3 pounder can still fit right through!! Any ideas? Oh, and Hazel developed a taste for baby bunnies over the weekend. Gross.

Whaaaat?

ok - I am obviously sitting here looking at my blog instead of getting my kiddos ready for school, but at least the tv is on for Jack...  So, I just heard a commercial for Zig-zags.  It said "zig zags for kids".  What?  rolling papers for kids?  I just caught the end and I need to see this.  Aren't zig zags rolling papers?  Not that I am familiar with rolling papers or anything...

I was just reading through my blog posts and realize I never posted an update on Emma - her kidney ultrasound was normal.  I am so thankful.  Now I wonder if there is something we can do about her sassy little self?!!!!!!

I need a vacation!

You know you need a vacation when:  you send your daughter to school in her jammies.  and then while using the electric trimmers on your husbands hair you forget to put on the guard and you shave a bald stripe right down the middle of his head...I have never laughed so hard in my life.  Good thing Derek looks good in hats ;o)  We are thankfully going on vacation, so I'll post some pics when we get back.

pictures

We had family pictures taken at church - they turned out pretty good. We were given a free disc of the pictures so we can edit and print them ourselves. I need to play with them a little more. The kids are feeling better. Derek has the stomach flu though. He is a bigger baby than both kids put together ;o)

oh dear

So, 3 people in my house have strep throat.  and I am not one of them.  Yet...  Well actually Jack is the only confirmed case, but Emma's tonsils are touching each other (ewww)  and since Jack has been so sick her dr. called in an rx and said she probably has strep.  derek is sick too - and very dramatic by the way ;o)  So here I sit.  with my favorite drink ever - a bullshot.  vodka, beef broth, worcestershire, lemon, salt&pepper.  if you know me well you know I don't measure any ingredients, I just throw it together.  Yum.  and much needed.  I may have another.  I took a few pics of the drinks to post here but Jack asked me why I was taking pictures of my drink.  then I felt like a loser.  which I am.  all these sick people are making me crazy up in here.  and I found out today that dogs can get strep too.  so I'm sure I'll be making a trip to the vet tomorrow for doggie antibiotics beacause you know my dogs like to be included in everything...
On another note, Emma is going in tomorrow for an ultrasound on her kidneys.  Please say a prayer for her that nothing is wrong.  thanks.  from crazytown

Jack

The boy is sick again.  He got his strep back and to top it off looks like he has bronchitis too!  He got a different antibiotic yesterday so hopefully he will be better soon - and can go back to school tomorrow ;o)

Pity party

Oh boy.  I was feeling a little sorry for myself last night.  I kept Jack home from school today - so by the end of the day I will be glad I only have 2 children :o)

I'm not asking for much...

I just looked through my whole blog.  At all the pictures of my kiddos.  They have grown so much.  Right before my eyes, so fast.  So.....  I realized something.  I want another baby.  Not too much to ask, is it?  I want a baby to cuddle and swaddle and feed a bottle and give a bath and hold while they are sleeping and smell  and ....  all that baby stuff.  Have you ever wanted anything so bad knowing there is no way you will get it?  Stinks huh?  Bummer.

Just a quick update for the 2 of you that read this blog ;o)
The kiddos are much better.  Thank goodness for antibiotics.  It is going to be sooo cold tomorrow so I may keep Jack home from school - the school district sent out a phone message tonight that said if the kids stayed home because of the weather tomorrow it would be excused.  I won't tell Jack - he will want to stay home for sure!!!  Hope you stay warm...

Jack has strep throat and Emma has a urinary tract infection. It's going to be a looong weekend! I hope they feel better soon ;o)

Mom and Gary

My mom and Gary came to visit us for New Year's. We had a great time - for a day or 2. Then everyone got the flu and our basement flooded. And I though Gary was going to get hypothermia in our basement!!! We really loved spending time with them though. It's nice to see my mom so happy! Especially when she buys me nice things! Like a Coach bag - thanks mom!!!! Can't wait to see you in March ;o)

the chickens

We are really enjoying our chickens! We have 6 hens and 1 rooster. We are getting 4 to 6 eggs a day. We may expand the chicken run and get some more chickens this Spring - it is so nice having fresh eggs. I am getting a little tired of cleaning out the coop though...
