Fall decorations

I thought I'd post some pictures of some of my Fall decorations, this is such a good time of year. I love the weather and the colors and the craft shows and the candy and the soup...Anyway, can you see that I had a "helper"? Jack wanted to be in the pictures so bad!

Have a good day!

Little sweetie

How can I resist this at 5:45 in the morning? Emma decided to get up extra early this morning and was so sweet and cuddly - which doesn't happen very often! She is getting her molars so her good mood did not last very long. She is napping right now and Jack and I are making aliens so I thought I'd take a blog break. The weather is cold today so we are just hanging out at home and I think I'll make soup for dinner - I'll post a recipe later.

Happy Monday! or not, but anyway - I made the Ckicken Haystack recipe last night and ended up adding everything into the crockpot. It was good and easy (Derek even got to wear clean undies to work!).

Here is another recipe I got from my sister, it is so good!
Candy Corn Brownies
Prepare a boxed brownie mix according to package directions, remove from oven and
top with 2 cups mini marshmallows, return to oven for 2 minutes. Remove from oven
and let cool. Meanwhile in a 3 quart saucepan mix 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup
light corn syrup together and heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat
and add 1/2 cup peanut butter and stir until well blended. Add 1-1/2 cup rice krispies,
1-1/2 cup salted peanuts and 1 cup candy corn. Stir and spoon over brownies. Let cool and cut into squares. These are very rich and perfect for Fall.

So, Emma was very busy last night. Here are a couple pics of little miss likes to climb! She is so busy, we turn our backs (or go to the kitchen for a glass of wine) and look what she does! Ugh! Thus the need for more wine :o)

I haven't quite figured out how to place pictures on this blog yet so I hope these look ok.
Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Emma

Thought we would post a picture of Emma from the front. Also, feel free to leave any comments.

more than I expected!

Okay, so I am new to this whole blog thing - way more involved than I expected. I read lots of them - but I thought I'd just start my own little blog. We'll see how this goes!!! Like I have a whole lotta spare time for this! Derek and I thought this would be a neat way to keep everyone up to speed on the kids and me, er I mean us! So here we go. I am sick and I think Jack is getting it - lets all pray that he doesn't. He is already too crabby!! Of course the first picture on my blog has to include me! I am going to try and post every day and include recipes, pictures and some fun stuff.
My first recipe!
Chicken haystacks
Combine in crockpot: 2 cans cream of celery soup
1 large can evaporated milk
1 can chicken broth
garlic, salt and pepper to taste
4 chicken breasts
Cook on low about 6-8 hours until chicken falls apart. Serve over cooked white rice and add any of the optional toppings.
Optional toppings: green onion, corn, peas, green pepper, tomato, celery, chinese noodles, pineapple.
Also here is a yummy way to eat your fruit!
Toffee dip
1 pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 pkg Heath bits
Mix everything until combined. I use my mixer and then add the Heath bits at the end by hand. Serve with fruit, especially good with apples and Gingersnap cookies!
Looking forward to dinner tonight!
Okay, so this post took almost the whole kids naptime, good thing my house is spotless, clothes are laundered and put away and dinner is in the crock pot! Oh well, 1 out of 3 isn't so bad, right? Derek can wear dirty underwear - again.
Hope you all enjoy our blog.
