kiddos
Here are some pictures of the kids before church yesterday. Um, Jack's teeth are coming in nicely... Anyone have the number for a good orthodontist?
Hot tub time
It's not whether you win or lose it's how you play the game
Ok, maybe it isn't just how you play the game, it's if you like it!!! So Jack had his first ever soccer game Saturday morning. He loved it! He is no soccer superstar let me tell you - but he had a great time. It was cold and windy - but he hung in there. He even got to be goalie - if you want to call it that! This child is in no hurry!!! I think he has one speed, snail ;o) He lokes siccer better than t-ball. I think because he gets to move a lot whereas t-ball he pretty much just stands around. Derek is also helping coach, which Jack thinks is pretty neat too. Emma sat on Grandma's lap all bundled up the whole time. Grandpa Chris came too and David, Amy and Maddie. Afterward we had a cookout and got in the hot tub for the first time this year. The kids loved it. Emma kept getting out and climbing back in. They were pooped. I'll post some more pictures of them in the hot tub next. Jack has a game every Saturday for the next 5 weeks. I think he did great for his first time out - I'm so proud of him! I took a ton of pictures - but the lens I have for my camera won't zoom in enough so I didn't get very many good ones. A new lens would make a great Mother's Day present...

Happy Friday!
It's Friday!!!! Hooray! We have a busy weekend as usual. Today we went to the park with some friends - Emma is worn out ;o) Tonight a cookout and bonfire at Jes and Jeremy's. Then tomorrow is Jack's first soccer game. He is so excited - Derek is helping out with the coaching and Jack is loving it. Afterwards we are having a cookout and we may even get in the hot tub for the first time this season, not pretty.... Then Sunday hopefully rest! Hope you have a great weekend. I will have lots of pictures to post next week!

A couple things
Ok, 2 things. First of all yes we did all match for Easter. Yes it was planned. Yes I am a total dork.
Second, there are no after shots of Emma after the curlers were taken out because they only lasted 5.7 seconds in her hair.

pink rollers
Ugh. how sweet is this? Saturday night I put Emma's hair in rollers. She absolutely hated it. I loved it. It may never happen again. I will never forget how it felt to put my daughter's hair in those soft pink rollers. I have waited all my life for this moment. I never thought I would get this experience. I thank God every day that I am a mom to this sweet little girl.
Easter baskets
Of course the kids had a great time with their Easter baskets, so much stuff! I made each of them a fleece blanket. Emma's is Disney princesses and Jack's is U of I. I also made a small baby doll blanket that matches Emma's for her baby. Emma also got an ironing board and iron - oh my goodness does she ever love it! She is a little confused though - she calls it a washer and dryer ;o) Aunt Darcey brought them baskets too. No more candy!!! We still have candy left from last Easter!
Easter egg hunt
Easter sunday we got up verrry early and went to the early service at church - the kids thought it was so neat to go to church while it was still dark! Our pastor gave a great sermon and after the service we had breakfast at church. We thought there was going to be an egg hunt at church but there wasn't so while the kids were at Sunday school Christie, Darcey and I went to the store and got stuff for an egg hunt at home. I am so glad that we decided to have a hunt at the last minute because it was Jack's favorite part of the whole day! They had so much fun. I love the picture of Jack running with the basket , the look on his face is priceless! This morning he told me he had 2 favorite things from Easter - Jesus' resurrection and the egg hunt!!!!
Granny's house
Last Thursday the kids and I took of for Grandma and Grandpa Chris's house. We had a great time! The kids like to call Grandma "granny" and they know she doesn't like it so they think it is so funny to call her it all the time! I left on Friday and the kids stayed the night again - and they say they didn't miss me at all - I don't believe it though!!! They had so much fun and kept so busy, they went to the park, a party, Burger King, McDonalds, dyed Easter eggs and made cookies. I'm tired just thinking about all they did! Thursday night I got to sneak out for awhile without the kiddos - thanks Chris and Christie! Then Derek and I went shopping and out to eat all by ourselves on Friday - it was soooo nice!
