more than I expected!

Okay, so I am new to this whole blog thing - way more involved than I expected. I read lots of them - but I thought I'd just start my own little blog. We'll see how this goes!!! Like I have a whole lotta spare time for this! Derek and I thought this would be a neat way to keep everyone up to speed on the kids and me, er I mean us! So here we go. I am sick and I think Jack is getting it - lets all pray that he doesn't. He is already too crabby!! Of course the first picture on my blog has to include me! I am going to try and post every day and include recipes, pictures and some fun stuff.
My first recipe!
Chicken haystacks
Combine in crockpot: 2 cans cream of celery soup
1 large can evaporated milk
1 can chicken broth
garlic, salt and pepper to taste
4 chicken breasts
Cook on low about 6-8 hours until chicken falls apart. Serve over cooked white rice and add any of the optional toppings.
Optional toppings: green onion, corn, peas, green pepper, tomato, celery, chinese noodles, pineapple.
Also here is a yummy way to eat your fruit!
Toffee dip
1 pkg. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 pkg Heath bits
Mix everything until combined. I use my mixer and then add the Heath bits at the end by hand. Serve with fruit, especially good with apples and Gingersnap cookies!
Looking forward to dinner tonight!
Okay, so this post took almost the whole kids naptime, good thing my house is spotless, clothes are laundered and put away and dinner is in the crock pot! Oh well, 1 out of 3 isn't so bad, right? Derek can wear dirty underwear - again.
Hope you all enjoy our blog.

So great to hear from, and see, you and the kids. Emma is darling and Jack looks, well, like a big kid! We miss you, the old backyard, your cooking and game playing. George especially misses wings and your political views this Fall!!

Alli, this is so awesome! Now we can all enjoy your family scrapbook every day, even if we can't be there in person. Thank you! Love, Mom

Hi Allison!
Thanks for including me in your blog announcement! I was just thinking about you. I can't believe how big Jack is and this is the first I knew of Emma - she is adorable! Looking forward to keeping in touch. Miss you-
